Octavio Bulcão is Director of Legal at Vale S.A., one of the largest mining companies in the world, focused on transforming natural resources into prosperity.
Prior to his current position, Octavio was a partner at Machado, Meyer, Sendaz e Opice Advogados, one of the most respected law firms in Brazil. During his practice, Octavio was responsible for significant M&A transactions and for supporting, from conception to implementation, large real estate and mining projects.
Among other activities, he is a member of the Fiscal and Economic Development Boards of the Federation of Industries of Bahia (FIEB). He is also a founding member of the Brazilian Institute of Energy Law (“IBDE”).
Octavio holds a Bachelor of Law from the Catholic University of Salvador. He also holds a Master’s degree in Tax Law from the Pontifical University of São Paulo (“PUC/SP”). He has a long list of contributions to tax doctrine, including several publications in specialized literature.
