Government of the Philippines to host 2026 EITI Global Conference
EITI’s flagship conference to be held in Manila in June 2026
The Government of the Philippines will host the 2026 EITI Global Conference in Manila in June 2026, bringing together over a thousand stakeholders from governments, companies, civil society and academia to shape the future of transparency and accountability in the extractive sector and to share good practices in natural resource governance.
“Hosting the 2026 EITI Global Conference underscores our dedication to the EITI’s principles and our efforts to put good governance and sustainable resource management at the heart of the extractive industries,” said the Secretary of Finance of the Philippines, Ralph Gonzalez Recto. “It reflects the Philippines’ firm resolve to lead by example in promoting transparency, strengthening accountability and ensuring that our natural resources are managed sustainably.”

This will be the 10th EITI Global Conference and the first to be held in an EITI implementing country in Asia. The agenda is expected to focus on the EITI’s strategic priorities, namely advancing anti-corruption efforts, strengthening domestic resource mobilisation and informing responsible resource governance policies through the energy transition.
Since joining the EITI in 2013, the Philippines has demonstrated strong leadership in natural resource governance and has used the EITI to promote transparency, accountability and multi-stakeholder engagement, including at the local level.
“We are delighted to partner with the Government of the Philippines to host the 2026 EITI Global Conference,” said Helen Clark, EITI Board Chair. “At a time of growing demand for critical minerals, the EITI Global Conference will convene global stakeholders to reaffirm the importance of responsible and transparent resource management.”

The event will explore innovations in data use and transparency and address emerging issues in the extractive sector. “We believe this conference can offer not only ideas but solutions, especially for countries in the Global South,” added Secretary of Finance Recto. “The 2023 EITI Standard can be leveraged to fight corruption, improve public policy and support equitable development.”
The Philippines is well positioned to deliver a world-class event, with a track record of hosting major international gatherings, including APEC Economic Leaders’ Meetings and ASEAN Summits. The Philippines will chair and host ASEAN Summits in 2026. Its longstanding partnership with the Asian Development Bank, headquartered in Manila, will reinforce the role of the conference as a regional platform for global development conversations.
The EITI Members' Meeting – comprising representatives from all stakeholder groups engaged in the EITI – will be held ahead of the conference to appoint the EITI Board and Board Chair for 2026-2029.
Further information on the conference theme, agenda and venue will be announced in due course.
