Alex Malden
Policy Manager
Alex is a Policy Manager advancing the EITI’s work on beneficial ownership transparency and contract transparency. Alex also supports the EITI Board’s Implementation Committee in achieving its objectives of overseeing countries' progress in implementing the EITI Standard.
Prior to joining EITI, Alex worked as a Financial Sector Expert within the Financial Integrity Group at the International Monetary Fund (IMF). He was a contributing author to several IMF publications on beneficial ownership and anti-corruption, including “Unmasking Control: A Guide to Beneficial Ownership Transparency” and “The Macroeconomic Impact of Illicit Financial Flows”. Before joining the IMF, Alex worked as a Governance Officer at the Natural Resource Governance Institute (NRGI), where he led projects on using data for accountability in Ghana, Indonesia and Nigeria.
Alex holds a Master of Science degree from the University College London School of Public Policy and a Bachelor of Arts in International Relations from Queen Mary University of London. His interests include photography and cooking.
