Is the EITI working? Have your say on the EITI Evaluation

Is the EITI working? Is it relevant and effective? And are we any closer to the objectives to strengthen transparency of natural resource revenues? These were questions that the international EITI Board wanted assessed when it commissioned an independent evaluation of the EITI. The final report from Scanteam is now here, and it provides some important pointers for the future of the EITI.

The EITI Board has already begun discussing the conclusions and recommendations of the final report. At our recent board meeting in Amsterdam, we had a retreat to discuss some of the strategic choices that the EITI is facing, and we decided to form a Strategy Working Group to consider the key findings. But we also need to hear what other key stakeholders think about them so, on behalf of the Board, I am inviting comments on the EITI evaluation here on the EITI website. You can have your say by clicking "ADD NEW COMMENT" below, or should you prefer, by sending your comments to secretariat@eiti.org. The evaluation report can be downloaded from this page.

UPDATE 26 July: R. Anthony Hodge has written his comments to the evaluation in a blog post.

Clare Short is Chair of the EITI Board.
