The Board approved Ukraine’s request for adapted implementation.

The Board agreed to the proposal in Board paper 39-4-D (Adapted implementation request: Ukraine) and approved Ukraine’s request for adapted implementation. It accepts the Ukrainian multi-stakeholder group’s request for adapted implementation with respect to coverage of extractive industries in the Donetsk and Luhansk oblasts of Ukraine and Crimea.

The application was made because the Government of Ukraine is not able to compel companies and local government agencies in these areas to participate in the EITI process. The government and multi- stakeholder group have committed to ongoing efforts to ensure that EITI Reports are as comprehensive as possible.
