Gabon is subject to active monitoring for a period of three months.
The monitoring period will end on 9 January 2024.
Board decision
Following the military takeover in Gabon, the Board has decided that Gabon will be subject to active monitoring for a period of three months, ending on 9 January 2024.
The Board has tasked the International Secretariat with closely monitoring Gabon's commitment to and progress in adherence with the EITI Principles and Requirements. If it becomes manifestly clear that significant aspects of EITI principles and Requirements are not being adhered to by the conclusion of the monitoring period, the Board will consider suspending Gabon in accordance with Article 8.2 of Section 1 of Part 2 of the 2023 EITI Standard.
