Ghana Validation 2020

Assessment of progress on meeting the EITI Standard

On 1 December 2020, Ghana was found to have made meaningful progress in implementing the 2016 EITI Standard. See Board Decision 2020-85/BC-300.

Timeline of Validation and related materials

  • 27 February 2020: Validation commenced
  • 3 - 5 June 2020: Stakeholder consultations
  • 6 August 2020: Draft assessment shared with the MSG for comments
  • 14 October: Assessment finalised and shared with the MSG

Background

This is a third Validation. On 1 December 2020, the EITI Board found that Ghana had made meaningful progress in implementing the EITI Standard (see Board decision). The Board established that progress in addressing six corrective actions would be assessed in a fourth Validation commencing 1 June 2022
