The EITI is pleased to welcome Tate Steel Cote d'Ivoire SA (TSCI) as the latest EITI Supporting Company. TSCI is a joint venture between its multinational parent company, Tata Steel Ltd, and the Ivorian state mining company, SODEMI. It is undertaking an exploration and feasibility study of iron ore deposits in Cote d’Ivoire.
In a letter to the EITI International Secretariat, available at the EITI website, the company states that "we believe that this ongoing commitment to promote transparency and accountability will contribute to the sustainable mineral development of Cote d'Ivoire and create more accountability at various levels".
With Tate Steel Cote d'Ivoire, there are now 57 oil, gas and mining companies that support the EITI.
