Partner events at the 2023 EITI Global Conference: 13-14 June 2023
Request for proposals
Description
The 2023 EITI Global Conference will take place in Dakar, Senegal, from 13-14 June. The EITI is pleased to announce a public call for expressions of interest to host partner events at the conference.
Partner events will be accommodated within the conference programme, in the afternoon of Tuesday 13 June, and during the day on Wednesday 14 June. Slots will also be available during the pre-conference day on Monday 12 June, prior to and during the Board meeting and prior to the Members’ Meeting.
Application instructions
The theme of the 2023 Global Conference is “Transparency in transition”. As we shape the conference programme, we invite partners to submit proposals on issues relevant to this theme. We invite proposals for short launch events (up to 45 minutes) as well as longer sessions (up to 75 minutes).
We are particularly interested in proposals for sessions that would be complementary to existing programme content. These could include, for example:
- Sustainable mineral supply chains
- Governance of the renewables sector
- Innovative uses of data and technology
- Artisanal and small-scale mining
- Subcontracting and supplier transparency
Other topics are also welcome. Interested organisations are requested to submit proposals by 24 March 2023. The following information is required:
- Proposed session title.
- A session description that would appear in the programme, if the event application is successful (max 250 characters).
- Session objectives and target audience.
- A short description of the topic(s) to be covered (max 150 words).
- A short description of the proposed format, including any interpretation and/or technical needs. We will discuss these with you if your event is successful and will also advise on room size and layout.
- Duration of the session, and whether you would target a 45- or 75-minute slot.
- Expected outputs/outcomes of the session, any plans for wider dissemination of session outputs.
- Provisional list of speakers. Please explain how diversity was considered in the selection of speakers.
- Contact person from your organisation. It is expected that the contact person will lead on logistical preparations for the session in coordination with the EITI International Secretariat.
In reviewing proposals, the EITI International Secretariat will consider possible overlap with other programme elements and parallel sessions.

Please note that partners selected to host events will be asked to contribute USD 3,000 to the International Secretariat to cover logistics and interpretation costs. On a case-by-case basis we can consider reducing this cost to cover basic interpretation needs only.
