Genci Tërpo
EITI National Coordinator, Albania
Mr. Genci Tërpo is the General Director of EITI National Secretariat in the Republic of Albania since 2019.
He has almost 20 years of experience, both in the private and public sector. He had worked for a long time with the civil society in Albania as a project director and law expert in the field of human rights and freedoms. He has also been a consultant to various NGOs in policy analysis related to system of justice reform, energy, human rights and biodiversity.
He has served as an Attorney at Law providing legal aid and representation in courts of all levels in Albania and also at the European Court of Human Rights. He has worked as a lecturer in the Faculty of Jurisprudence teaching administrative law.
He has also served as Legal Advisor to the Minister of Infrastructure and Energy in Albania (Cabinet of the Minister). Area of commitment: the smooth running of the transport sector, mining sector as well as the following of international agreements in this sector and responsible for business or company complaints in MIE activity. He served in the Ministry of Justice of Albania as General Director of AAC and also as vice commissioner in the office of Ombudsman of Albania.
Mr. Tërpo holds a Diploma on the field of Justice from Faculty of Jurisprudence in the University of Tirana, a Postgraduate Diploma in Constitutional and Administrative Legislation from the European University in Tirana, and an Executive Master in Criminology from Faculty of Jurisprudence in the University of Tirana.
He attended several conferences trainings, and professional development programs on Human Rights, Energy and security legislation, constitutional, civil and administrative law, family and criminal law and international legislation in different national and international institutions.
Genci speaks fluent English and Italian.
