
Jyldyz Abdyrakhmanova
Senior Policy Officer
Jyldyz is a Senior Policy Officer at EITI, supporting the Policy Director on initiatives aimed at enhancing transparency in the extractive industries in EITI member countries. She actively contributes to the development of strategic documentation on policy development, including initiatives related to contract transparency, comprehensive EITI reporting reviews, progress analyses and other relevant areas.
Previously, Jyldyz served as a Senior Country Officer, providing support to EITI implementation in Southeast Asia, Asia Pacific and Central Asia, with a particular focus on Mongolia and Timor-Leste.
As a professional in energy and extractives governance and sustainability, Jyldyz has extensive experience working with international financial institutions, mining businesses, and governments in the emerging markets of Central Asia. Before joining EITI, she worked for the World Bank, coordinating efforts to improve extractives governance, accountability and transparency in the Kyrgyz Republic.
Jyldyz holds an M.Sc. in Sustainable Development from the University of St. Andrews, UK. She is also a PhD candidate at the MIT Portugal Program in Sustainable Energy Systems, focusing on disruptive business models in renewable energy industry. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her son and daughter, going to the gym, golfing, and cooking. Jyldyz is based in Lisbon, Portugal.
