Country Officer – Anglophone Africa

Williams supports the implementation of EITI in Anglophone African countries. He is passionate about understanding the dynamics of international development and corporate governance.

Prior to working at the EITI, Williams was a policy analyst consultant at the Organisation for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD) Directorate for Financial and Enterprise Affairs, where he supported a study on transparency for investment incentives in the Southern African Development Community (SADC). Prior to this, Williams was an intern at the OECD Global Forum on Transparency and Exchange of Information for Tax Purposes. He has about three years’ working experience in transparency and accountability, democratic governance and international development.

Williams holds an MA in International Affairs from Johns Hopkins University with a specialisation in international development. He holds a BSc in Political Science from Federal University Lokoja, Nigeria. His research interests include: tax and investment transparency; democracy and public governance; and international political economy. Outside of work, he enjoys public speaking and is a football enthusiast.
