Governance of Extractive Industries: New Opportunities and Strategies
Over the course of the meeting, the assembled participants will be asked to weigh in on: key issues and challenges for the field to address over the coming years; what we do (not) know about efficacy of our strategies to improve governance of extractive industries (GEI) to date and how this can be improved to inform future efforts; and opportunities/modalities for different actors to work together to bring about deep, tangible impacts on specific priority challenges in the next 3-5 years. Significant attention will be paid to ways in which the World Bank and others can strategize their work to maximize impact across the entire EI value chain.
The meeting is organised by the World Bank Group in New York City, USA.
