Training in Kyrgyz Republic

The International Secretariat is providing training to investigative journalists and interested MSG members on how to investigate and report hidden ownership in the extractive sector. Attendees will look at past practice from reporters based around the world, followed by presentations from leading international investigative journalists on the tools and techniques used in their investigations with a special focus on politically exposed persons. The International Secretariat has also arranged for a law firm to talk the journalists through the necessary steps to obtain data from the government and upcoming changes to the subsoil law which includes beneficial ownership disclosure.
