Statement of support

Engagement with the EITI

Staatsolie was part of the first steering committee to set up a multi-stakeholder group (MSG) with extractive industry companies and civil society organisations in Suriname. The company also actively participated in the process led by the government of Suriname to become a candidate country as of 24 May 2017. Since then Staatsolie has been an active member of the MSG for the oil and gas company constituency in Suriname.

Strengthening transparency

The company has produced an audited annual report, including its payments to the government. Since 2007, Staatsolie has been publishing its annual report on its website. Staatsolie’s 2019 annual report is available on Staatsolie’s website.

Recently, the company launched its Corporate Governance Code, which is a set of guidelines for good governance.
