Pertamina joins EITI as a supporting company

Pertamina joins over 60 companies supporting the EITI.

The EITI recently welcomed Pertamina as its newest supporting company

The Indonesian state-owned oil and natural gas corporation is currently the largest producer of oil and gas in Indonesia, and has a vision to be a world class national energy company.

In its statement of support for the EITI, the company states that, “within our Sustainability Policy, Pertamina commits to ensure compliance of all stipulated legal requirements, and upholds the highest standards of Good Corporate Governance practices, including accountability and transparency throughout the company's areas of operations."

To this end, Pertamina's group members disclose information in the EITI implementing countries where they operate, including in Indonesia, Iraq, Gabon and Tanzania.

Support for the EITI will enable Pertamina to further its transparency agenda through its commitment to meeting the Expectations for EITI supporting companies, which outline nine areas that underpin corporate accountability and transparency in line with the EITI Standard.

“We welcome Pertamina to the EITI community,” said Mark Robinson, EITI Executive Director. “By committing to the Expectations for EITI supporting companies, Pertamina will learn from international best practices and will have the opportunity to adopt a leadership role in advocating the EITI Principles internationally and throughout the Asia Pacific region.”
