EITI Chair Peter Eigen visits Rwanda, DRC and Mozambique
Peter Eigen, Chair of the Extractive Industries Transparency Initiative (EITI), joined the new German Minister of Economic Cooperation and Development, Dirk Niebel on an official visit to Rwanda, the Democratic Republic of the Congo (Kivu) and Mozambique on 7-14 January 2010.
During this stay in Rwanda, Dr Eigen met the Minister of Finance and Economic Planning John Rwangombwa, the Budget Committee of the Rwandan Parliament as well civil society organisations to promote EITI implementation in Rwanda. He also met with the UN-MONUC mission in DRC and with the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Mineral Resources in Mozambique.
